Fun Family Activities to Try.....
Feed the Animals!
Use yarn and a large upholstery needle (with an eye big enough to thread yard through) to make a feeder. String the yarn with dried and fresh fruits, popcorn, cereal, and pinecones that are covered in peanut butter and seeds. Use a variety of foods to see how many different types of birds and wildlife you can attract. Hang outside the window and enjoy the show!
Smoking Bubbles
So the other day we took the kids out for ice cream. They noticed a sign in the shop advertising "dry ice" for sale. Since it was inexpensive, we took a pound home and did a fun "experiment"........
1. Fill a large bowl with hot water and a couple tablespoons of dishsoap
2. Use tongs to place dry ice in bowl (Never touch dry ice...it will burn your skin!)
3. Pop the resulting bubbles and watch them "smoke"!

Love Those Fall Leaves!
There are so many fun things for kids to do with the beautiful autumn leaves....here's a few ideas to get you started....
leaf rubbings: Gather leaves of different colors/textures and place them under a piece of copy paper. Have your child take the paper off of a crayon and rub it sideways on the paper over the leaf.....beautiful!
Suncatchers: Have child place a a few leaves (stems removed) between 2 pieces of wax paper. Iron on medium heat for 5 seconds on each side. Tape to a window and enjoy.
Placemats: Place leaves on a decorated sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper. Cover both sides with clear contact paper.
